The Department of Physics was established in January of 1980. 40 students entered this department in March of that year. The masters program was opened in March of 1985 and became the Department of Physics in the College of Natural Sciences in October of 1998. The doctoral program was opened in March of 1991. The faculty consists of 7 professors.
